Sustainability
Up Marketing practices, supports and promotes sustainable business.
Paul Cassel, president and CEO, traces his roots in commercial environmentalism back to the nineteen eighties when he was active in helping environmental organizations engage with market oriented initiatives to both spread their messages and fund their operations, a fairly novel concept at the time.
Up Marketing continues in this vein today assisting ENGOs, trade associations, government bodies and private sector operations seeking to commercialize and educate their audiences about sustainable practices, processes, products and services.
We also stress the importance of underpinning the marketing and communications of sustainable messages with an enterprise commitment to responsible management practice. This includes: purchasing power generated by renewable sources; using environmentally certified consumables such as FSC paper; utlizing energy efficient equipment; purchasing carbon offsets; managing work and office spaces to minimize energy use; considering social environmental impacts along the supply chain with regard to fair trade and environmental stewardship; minimizing waste in process, production, packaging and administration; supporting NGOs working on advocacy and in the community; and imbuing a general commitment to energy efficiency, reduction of consumption and cradle-to-cradle recycling throughout the organization.
At Up Marketing, we endeavour to lead in sustainable business practice and encourage the contribution from all our trading partners of new ideas as to how we can continue to set an example in corporate social responsibility.
